If I had to use one word to summarize the vibe at Royal City Basketball Club, it would be “community.” The amazing team made at Royal City Basketball has always made it very clear to me that this would not only be a place where kids can learn the great game of basketball, but that it should be a place where EVERY child feels a sense of belonging. This was not just a pretty sentiment, but my time in the gym with Royal City Basketball has shown me that this is a core value upheld by the coaches, staff, volunteers, participants and parents. Coaches take the time to teach our youth the true meanings of teamwork, dedication, personal growth, and family. Hence, they learn what it means to be a part of a community of people that genuinely care about one another. This is also exemplified by the parents, staff and volunteers, who embody this spirit of community on and off the court. Through their hard work and dedication, they learn that you do not have to be the best player to be great; through their individual strengths they can work together to become the very best they can be.

My experience with Royal City Basketball has been very rewarding. At the beginning we challenged ourselves to build a club that’s “Bigger than Basketball”. We knew it would take countless hours of hard work, long days followed by more long days. Our primary goal is to foster a love of the game in the communities we serve! When the community thinks of basketball we want Royal City Basketball to be the first name that comes to mind! So now, we work just as hard to improve the club and continue to provide an opportunity to all youth. From those that are beginners all the way to the elite levels and everywhere in between. For those that may not have normally had the opportunity to play, we want to be their home. This is truly “Bigger than Basketball”, bigger than ourselves. I’m very proud of everyone at Royal City Basketball for where the club is today. I also take a lot of pride in being able to coach and mentor kids in my home city. I am certain they will grow with us to achieve great things on and off the court! Royal City on 3! 1.. 2.. 3.. Royal City!
